Clover Hill - His Life and Legacy Clover Hill was one of the
two great performance stallions of modern times. He was a registered Irish Draught, a signal honour for a half thoroughbred horse, a son of the racehorse Golden Beaker. Clover Hill was put on the stallion register by Dick Jennings, the last of the old time stallion inspectors who made a ground breaking decision to register this half thoroughbred horse which in the fullness of time gave Ireland so many jumping champions. We have no Irish Draught stallions today of the calibre of Clover Hill. This account of one of our greatest sires, his progeny and their achievements, endeavours to record the story of a colt which travelled from the west of Ireland to Philip Heenan in Tipperary and made an indelible mark on Irish breeding. He ranks as one of the best and his blood flows in almost all of the great showjumpers of his era. Price: €18 / Stg£14 / USD$24 - Click to Buy |
