Handbook for Horse Breeders

This is a book based on a lifetime with horses. It is written from experience and is the first and only breeding manual produced for Irish breeders.

Every aspect of the breeding process is dealt with in these pages, from conformation, gestation, care of the mare and foal, breaking of the young horse, to stallion selection.

The text is readable, direct and produced to provide breeders, the newcomer in particular, with as much information as possible on what he must do to produce a worthwhile foal.

There is a chapter on training the three year old horse, again based on experience, and there are sections on breeding Irish Draughts, Connemaras and coloured horses which will prove valuable guidelines to breeders going down these routes.

Handbook for Horse Breeders does not provide all the answers but the breeder will find it a valuable source of information and help.
