Essences of Living - A Short Story Collection

This collection of short stories by Irish writer Nicholas O'Hare is an attempt to portray in literary terms some of the influences which have impinged on the author's life over the course of the past fifty years.

The stories have been written to reflect the acceptable attitudes which are found in life as well as issues which subvert ordinary people. Some of the stories have been designed to shock, others perhaps to emphasise more heartwarming attitudes. They are written to entertain and perhaps to exert some moral pressure.

Nicholas O'Hare has written a number of novels and books on equine topics and has a background in horsebreeding, publishing and journalism. He has edited magazines and annuals and written extensively on the Irish horse industry which was his parallel career for most of his life.
