Nicholas does it again with new ID Book

Farmers Journal - July 13th,

Having already published asuperb book on The King of Diamonds, journalist Nicholas O'Hare has done it again by writing an excellent volume called The Modem Irish Draught. In what is a wise move O'Hare divides the "modern" Irish Draught breed into six main families-King of Diamonds, Clover Hill, Pride of Shaunlara, Ben Purple, Laughton and Slievenamon.

He devotes a chapter to each but also addresses the issue of performance which is so vital to the future of Ireland's world famed horse of the country. The history of the ID is covered In a way that shows his experience. The choices that our breeders have to make are also outlined and they are all made that bit easier by the information provided on the stallions on offer. It is only through informing themselves of the current demands being made in modern horse breeding through well thought out publications like this one that they can ensure a future for their enterprise. Anyone interested in the Irish Draught horse should not be without this book.
