In his book The Modern Connemara Nicholas O'Hare devotes a chapter to his
experiences as a breeder of the Connemara/thoroughbred cross when he put his
registered Connemara stallion Silver Heaven by Silver Cloud out of Bitter
Lemon to selected thoroughbred mares to produce performance horses.

Although a dedicated supporter of
the Connernara breed, Nicholas O'Hare also bred sport horses. Silver Heaven,
a full brother to a Dublin Horse Show champion, was himself twice placed second
in the Dublin Horse Show Connernara stallion class. Silver Heaven was bred by
the Buckley family of Annagharvey, Tullamore, Co Offaly from their remarkable
mare Bitter Lemon. A showing and harness driving enthusiast Nicholas O'Hare bought
nine foals from Bitter Lemon over the years. For more information buy The Modem
